February 25th 2017 Skate-A-Thon
This year it will be on February 25th, from 12:30-2pm at Howe Arena.
Here is the pledge form
This is a very simple fundraiser - skaters will collect pledges from family, neighbors, teachers, local businesses, etc, for skating as many laps as they can in 30 minutes. The funds are split 60/40 skaters account/general account. Last year we raised over $4,000! This event has been a lot of fun, and I know we can raise a lot of money for our skaters and the club, but we need everyones participation. In fact, this year I will also be collecting pledges and skating laps🤔😱. We give away lots of prizes for the event, with the grand prize of a club jacket going to the skater who raises the most money. Take a look at the forms for more details as well.

$10,000 Raffle Drawing on December 10th
Participate in our $10,000 grand prize raffle! Potential to raise $20,000 on this $10,000 Cash Prize raffle. Tickets are $10 each and we can only sell 3000 tickets total. If 100 families sell 30 tickets each we will make our goal.
Get your ticket from any club member, or at the office. The tickets will also be sold at the beginning of the Christmas show exhibition.
Because this raffle is run through the State Gaming Division we are only allowed to compensate sellers in 3 ways…
1. The family who sells the most raffle tickets will receive $150 (credit toward account or cash if your account is paid in full)
2. The family who sells the winning ticket will receive $50 (credit toward account or cash if your account is paid in full)
3. For every 30 tickets sold, your name will be entered into a drawing for $100 – the more you sell the bigger your chances of winning!
Drawing on December 10th, will be held right after the Christmas Exhibition at Center Arena.
Support TCFSC with Shopping Online
Any online shopping? Consider using either GoodShop.com or Amazon Smile. They both work in similar ways: Go to the site and select the organization you wish to support (TCFSC is on both the sites), and a percentage of your purchases will help support the club. There are TONS of major brands on GoodShop, and Amazon Smile is... well its amazon.
Shop with Scrip
Parents, you can earn money towards your childs figure skating account just by doing your normal shopping. Shop with scrip!.
What is Scrip? Scrip is a fundraiser for YOU!. You purchase gift cards from over 400 retailers and a percentage of that purchase is yours. For example: I need some gardening supplies, so I buy a $100 The Home Depot gift card for $100 through my daughters Traverse City Figure Skating Club scrip fundraiser. I just earned $4.00 because The Home Depot gift cards are available from Great Lakes Scrip Center at 4% less than face value. When I check out at The Home Depot, I pay with my The Home Depot gift card instead of using a credit or debit card. Now, of that $4.00 that I just earned, Traverse City Figure Skating Club will keep 10% (so $0.40) and you get to keep 90% to help with your childs figure skating account!
What other fundraiser gives you 90%?! & That’s why it is so exiting! One of our members who has a son that plays hockey was able to pay for all of his hockey using scrip! You can even invite your friends/family to sign up under your scrip account and you will get credit for it.
To get started you will need to go to www.shopwithscrip.com/getstarted. Once on that screen click on “join a scrip program” and enter our enrollment code: 26959A9934291. You will then be asked to register with scrip. Fill in all the necessary information and you’re ready to shop for your gift cards! That’s it!
You can use scrip cards in everyday life…gas, groceries, eating out and so much more! With Christmas coming there may be bonus days (a higher percentage back to you) from retailers, so sign up soon to start earning money! The scrip website has a wealth of information to help you get started.
